Overview

In an era defined by rapid technological transformation, evolving global markets, and urgent sustainability challenges, the need for innovation and resilience has never been greater. As businesses and economies navigate disruption and opportunity alike, interdisciplinary collaboration is essential to shaping a sustainable and prosperous future.
The International Conference on Sustainable Innovation in Business and Economics (SIBE) is an annual academic platform dedicated to advancing research and fostering dialogue on innovation, sustainability, and resilient economic development.


Current Edition - SIBE 2026

The SIBE 2026 is co-organized by the Business School at the British University Vietnam (BUV) and will take place in October 2026 in Vietnam as an in-person conference.
SIBE 2026 aims to serve as an international forum for high-quality research presentations, keynote discussions, and meaningful engagement between academia and industry, focusing on sustainable innovation, digital transformation, and economic resilience.
The conference welcomes contributions aligned with the following tracks.

Track I: Tourism, Events & Hospitality in the Digital Era

Keynote Speakers

Umberto De Vita

Marketing Director, Advance Denim

Umberto De Vita currently serves as Marketing Director at Advance Denim, where he leads strategic initiatives across the European and Vietnamese markets, with a strong focus on innovation and sustainable denim development.
With extensive international experience in the denim and textile industry, Umberto has held several senior leadership roles across multiple organisations. Most recently, he was Denim Segment Director at Archroma, working across Singapore, Spain, and Vietnam. Prior to that, he served as Export Manager at Lamberti SpA (Italy) and Dyeing Manager at Italdenim (Italy).
His combined expertise in both production and commercial functions provides him with a comprehensive, global perspective on the denim industry.

Dr. Ajay K. Manrai

 

Dr. Ajay K. Manrai is professor emeritus of marketing at the Alfred Lerner College of Business and Economics at the University of Delaware. He is editor-in-chief of the Journal of Global Marketing (Taylor & Francis), a Scopus Q1 journal (best quartile) with a 2024 CiteScore of 7.7, and a Clarivate ESCI-indexed journal with a 2024 Journal Impact Factor of 4.3. He is also a former president of the International Management Development Association (2010–12). Manrai is ranked in the top 0.8% of scholars globally, according to ScholarGPS (2024).
He holds a Ph.D. from the Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University (ranked 31st in the 2025 World University Rankings), an MBA from the Indian Institute of Management, Ahmedabad, and a B.Tech. in mechanical engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology, Delhi.
With more than four decades of academic experience, Manrai has held faculty appointments at the Kellogg School, the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania (ranked 14th in the 2025 World University Rankings) and the University of Delaware’s Lerner College. He has authored more than 150 peer-reviewed publications in high-impact journals, including Marketing Science (ABS 2024: 4*), Journal of Marketing Research (ABS 2024: 4*), Journal of International Marketing (ABS 2024: 3), Journal of Global Marketing, International Business Review (ABS 2024: 3), Journal of Business Research and Psychometrika (ABS 2024: 3).
Manrai’s accolades reflect his impact, including the university-wide Excellence in Teaching Award (1994) and multiple Lerner College MBA and EMBA teaching awards. As a global academic leader and mentor, he has traveled to more than 150 countries across seven continents. He received a Fulbright-Nehru Senior Research Scholar grant (India, 2011) and continues to support the scholarly community through editorial leadership, mentorship and international engagement.

Call for Papers & Submission

The International Conference on Sustainable Innovation in Business and Economics (SIBE 2026) invites original research addressing emerging challenges and opportunities in business and economics in the digital era.

SIBE 2026 provides a platform for research presentations, academic exchange, and collaboration between scholars and industry practitioners, with a focus on sustainable innovation and economic resilience.

All submissions must be made through the Microsoft CMT submission system. For detailed instructions regarding formatting, eligibility, and submission policies, please refer to the full Submission Guidelines.


Conference Tracks

Authors are invited to submit their work under one of the following tracks:
  • Track I: Tourism, Events & Hospitality in the Digital Era
  • Track II: Accounting, Finance & Governance in the Age of Digitalization
  • Track III: Management, Marketing & Economics in the Digital Economy

Submission Categories

Each category requires a separate submission.

1. Poster
Suitable for early-stage research, work-in-progress, conceptual papers, or innovative ideas. Accepted posters will be presented during the poster session.

2. Oral Presentation (Abstract Only)
Submit an abstract only if you wish to present at the conference without submitting a full paper.

3. Full Paper (Publication Consideration)
Full papers will undergo a double-blind peer review process and may be considered for publication opportunities.

Note:
  • We accept either oral or poster presentations only (not both).
  • Full paper submissions can be combined with either an oral presentation or a poster presentation (but not both).
  • No refunds will be issued.
  • Submission of a full paper does not automatically guarantee an oral presentation slot. Authors who wish to present must also submit a separate abstract.

Manuscript Preparation

Poster: Abstract up to 250 words describing the research idea and contributions (see template here).

Oral Presentation: Extended abstract (250 - 400 words) outlining the research topic, methodology, and key findings (see template here).

Full Paper:
  • Use the official SIBE 2026 paper template (available here).
  • Write in clear English.
  • Submit in Word format.
  • Follow double-blind review requirements.

Author names and affiliations must not appear in the manuscript file and should be entered only in the CMT submission system.

British University Vietnam (BUV) is situated within the Ecopark urban area, approximately a 25-minute drive from central Hanoi. The campus features modern facilities and state-of-the-art technology, providing students with an international-standard educational experience. The campus is designed to accommodate over 10,000 students upon completion of all construction phases. In April 2025, BUV inaugurated Phase 2 of its campus, adding 16,300 square meters of space, including a Student Hub, Food Court, lecture halls and specialized classrooms.
